"Coffee with a Colonial" with Sam Leamer

  • Historic Rock Ford 881 Rockford Road Lancaster, PA 17601 USA (map)

“Coffee with a Colonial” brings the sights, sounds, and flavors of 18th century America to life. Experience the warmth and bustle of a colonial coffeehouse or tavern, where history isn’t just told – it’s lived!

“Coffee with a Colonial” gives the opportunity to have a moment to sit down and enjoy sipping through history, enjoying a favorite beverage with discussion and interacting with 18th century material culture. Where the world is so busy today, living historian Samuel Leamer invites you to take a pause and enjoy the simple pleasure of conversation over and about coffee, either of the 18th or the 21st century variety.

This program will be held in the kitchen of the General Hand Mansion.

Sam Leamer was born and raised in Berk County PA. He holds a history degree from Cairn University and is a life-long living historian/re-enactor with a decade of experience working with 21st century Coffee. He brings a blended passion of history and coffee. Sam wishes to provide a deeper, richer, and perhaps a more flavorful understanding of the Colonial Coffee Culture in North America and how it fueled a nation’s beginnings.
