Historic Rock Ford welcomes Forbes Road Frolic for a concert of Colonial Era Tavern Music. This musical duo offers a well-researched musical experience using instruments that are descended from those of the 17th and 18th centuries. They tailor the music to be enjoyed by today’s audiences even though it is at least 200 years old. This music is not the formal music of the Baroque era or chamber music! Rather, Forbes Road Frolic tries to replicate the gritty, colloquial music that was likely to be heard in a tavern in British America of the period from the 1750’s through the American War of Independence. Dressed in period attire, they provide an authentic colonial tavern musical experience in ways.
Forbes Road Frolic previously performed at Historic Rock Ford during our Lafayette Day celebration and Yuletide special event in 2025.
