Historic Rock Ford welcomes the Jane Austen Playlist as they present "Love and Music of Regency England." Experience the music that Jane Austen played and loved in a sparkling performance that includes dramatized narrations from her beloved novels.
The program, featuring music from the Austen Family Music Books, offers a glimpse into the mind of this favorite author as she penned her beloved works. There are examples of tender love, of unrequited love, of fickle love, of ‘a fine, stout, healthy love,’ a ‘slight, thin sort of inclination’ (although, don’t worry, the only good sonnets starving it away will be those of Mr. Willoughby), and finally, of triumphant love. In addition to Jane's passion for writing, she also loved music. All of Jane's literary output, from her letters to her novel’s colorful scenes, expresses music's role in her life.
This performance will be presented on the piazza of the Hand Mansion with seating on the lawn.
About the Performers: The Jane Austen Playlist, founded in 2019, is a historical music project featuring the music of the Austen family in digitized notations, companion recordings, and dramatically narrated performances.
